Cable tries to liberate Irene from Aentaros the Undying -- but finds he might have to make an enormous sacrifice in order to do so.

Cable is facing Irene who is under the control of the Aentaros The Undying, a murder-driven alien being. He needs to decide whether to kill her or not. Once he manages to handle Irene by blocking an artery causing her cardiac arrest, the alien flees her body. At the same time, Cable uses his powers to call 911 who come rescue Irene and bring her back to life.

She reveals to Cable about the Undying and what she remembers while he possessed her; she was aware of it's thoughts when under it's control. Cable then learns he has to fight Domino, to stop her from killing the possessed mutant Randall Shire. Either way will result in a paradise future but which one will Cable allow to happen?
